Killers From Space

I'm not wholly sure on what my format is going to be for every post, but here's what it should look like.

Killers From Space (1954)
Starring Peter Graves
Synopsis: "Nuclear scientist Doug Martin disappears after his plane crashes while he is investigating condition following an atomic bomb test. When he appears at the military base later, he is taken into custody after he is caught spying..."

The synopsis that is provided on the case is awful and spoils the plot, which I will try not to do in this blog, so I will generally shorten them.

Analysis: I think this movie shows a good representation of the time in your life where no one believes anything you say. Killers from Space does this well. The main character strangely disappears and cannot remember anything. After being declared insane (the flaws of the medical system!) and being given a magical serum he starts spewing out information on aliens (with huge eyes) which must wrong. This movie just plants into my mind how wrong medical procedures are and how countless people have probably been institutionalized for telling stories of alien abduction.

There was a certain point in this movie where I could tell that the writers had been stumped on how to finish the story. This was when a mysterious radioactive element, unknown to humanity, was invented. Of course this element was unstable and highly explosive. And of course this element was only kept in a stable state by a constant current of electricity (provided by the near by power plant).

I thought it was a fairly good movie. It is worth seeing just for the crazy aliens and their hijinks.

Rating: 7/10
